FAIRFAX, VA — A man dressed as Spiderman broke into a local gaming store and made off with about $10,000 in merchandise, but he didn’t stay hidden for long.
City of Fairfax Police say the burglary happened overnight on March 15 at Gaming Giant, located at 4021 University Drive. Surveillance footage showed a suspect in a full Spiderman costume forcing entry into the store. With help from the community, detectives identified the suspect as Joel Brown, 20, of Silver Spring, MD.
Brown was arrested on March 19 and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with burglary. He was released on an unsecured bond.
Police have not said exactly what items were stolen, but Gaming Giant specializes in video games, consoles, and collectible trading cards.
