On May 27, 2024, at 12:39 PM, the City of Fairfax Police responded to a robbery report at the Safeway located at 10350 Willard Way.
According to the investigation, a male suspect entered the store, took an item from the shelf, and attempted to leave without paying. When confronted by an employee, the suspect implied he had a firearm and exited the store with the item. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
On June 30, 2024, officers identified the suspect as 29-year-old Mars Jones, who has no fixed address. A warrant for Robbery (18.2-58) was obtained. Jones was already in custody at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on an unrelated charge. The warrant was served, and Jones is being held without bond.
