Fairfax, January 27, 2024 – City of Fairfax Police responded to a distress call from the 7-Eleven at 10955 Fairfax Boulevard, where a violent altercation was underway. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that an intense argument had escalated into physical violence. The suspect, identified in the heat of the argument, resorted to using a rock as a weapon, striking the victim, who was known to him, in the face. This attack left the victim with multiple abrasions.
The victim was promptly transported to Fairfax Hospital. Fortunately, the injuries sustained were deemed non-life-threatening by medical professionals. In the wake of the incident, the Patrol Operations Division took charge of the investigation. Their effective and prompt action led to the quick identification and location of the suspect in the vicinity of the crime scene.
The suspect, Hugo Avalos Aguilar, 42, currently without a fixed address, was apprehended by the authorities. Aguilar faces serious charges including Malicious Wounding under section 18.2-51, and additionally, he was found to have an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear as per section 19.2-128. Following his arrest, Aguilar was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He is currently being held there without the option of bond, awaiting further legal proceedings.
