Fairfax Man Arrested for Felony Firearm Brandishing and Assault on Officer

FAIRFAX CITY— On August 13, 2024, at approximately 5:31 p.m., City of Fairfax Police responded to a report of firearm brandishing at 11200 Fairfax Boulevard, specifically in the H-Mart parking lot. An investigation revealed that an argument between two individuals escalated when one man brandished a handgun. Officers quickly located the suspect, who was identified as 32-year-old Anania Keene, of Fairfax.

Further investigation determined that Keene was under the influence of narcotics at the time of the incident and was also linked to an unrelated assault case from the previous day. During his interaction with law enforcement, Keene allegedly spit on an officer and was taken into custody. A search of Keene following his arrest revealed two lighters designed to resemble handguns.

Keene was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with multiple offenses, including Brandishing a Firearm Within 1,000 Feet of a School, Assault on Law Enforcement, and Public Intoxication. In connection with the unrelated assault, Keene was also served with a warrant for Simple Assault. He is currently being held without bond.
