Fairfax County police arrested a 54-year-old man after he fled from officers attempting to serve a warrant for abduction. The incident began with reports of a disorderly male acting erratically outside in a neighborhood common area.
According to the initial caller, a man known to live in the area had parked his car on a grassy spot and was behaving in a concerning manner. When officers arrived, they were unable to locate him and later attempted to make contact at his residence, but no one answered the door.
Shortly after, a person living with the suspect visited police headquarters. They told officers they had heard the police knocking earlier but were too intimidated by the suspect to respond. Fortunately, they were unharmed.
After obtaining a warrant, officers returned to the residence to arrest the suspect. When the man, identified as Charles Perks of Fairfax, saw the officers, he fled on foot but was apprehended nearby. Perks was arrested and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with abduction and held on a secure bond.
