FAIRFAX, Va. — City of Fairfax Police are investigating a commercial burglary after thieves broke into a restaurant on Main Street and made off with cash and a safe.
Police said officers were notified at 7:49 a.m. on July 13 about a delayed report of a burglary at Sarku Japan, located at 9508 Main St.
Investigators determined the suspect or suspects forced their way into the business by breaking the glass in the front door. Once inside, they stole money from the cash register before removing the business’s safe and its contents.
The burglary was discovered after it had already occurred, and investigators have not released information about when the break-in took place or whether surveillance footage captured the suspects.
The City of Fairfax Police Department is asking anyone with information about the burglary or the people responsible to contact Detective Hairston at (703) 385-7924.
Police have not announced any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
